Startlab adapts to your teaching time. The course can last from 1 week or 1 month to 1 semester depending on your needs and availability. However, in order to lead young people towards the creation of projects, you will need to have about 10 hours or more in class, spread over the time you wish. 

In general, Startlab is aimed at all those who want to teach young people to create projects and develop their transversal skills.

Startlab is for example perfectly adapted to the framework of training and integration for young adults. The programme enables them to mobilise around the creation of their own projects and the discovery of entrepreneurship.

It is up to you to choose how your students will work: a collective project defined by you for your whole class/school or a team project left entirely up to the students.

Educational resources are provided and accessible within Startlab. You will find presentations that go with each face-to-face session, teaching sheets, activity sheets and educational videos (5 episodes and 5 tutorials).  However, you are free to use the resources that seem relevant to you. You can add resources to them in order to adapt the course to your programme.

All you need is internet access. The solution works on a computer, tablet or mobile. For optimal use of our resources as a teacher, we recommend that you use a computer, especially for downloading and using our teaching resources.

We also recommend the use of a video projector, whiteboard, post-it, markers and other material resources for the group phases and especially for brainstorming.

Startlab is available on Microsoft Windows, MacOS / IOS or Android.

The Startlab solution has been designed to be easy to learn. You will be able to go through the solution in less than an hour, but it may take a little longer if you want to explore all the resources. As with any new educational tool, feel free to take the time to familiarise yourself with the resources and adapt them to your curriculum and educational objectives.

Yes, teachers have one hour of training to help them get started with the solution and to answer any questions they may have. A complete pedagogical guide is also made available to the teacher to help him/her in the use of the product. In general, we are at your disposal to advise you on the implementation of Startlab and provide you with relevant use cases. Our team is very reactive and attentive to your pedagogical needs.

Not at all. You can choose to focus on some steps more than others. You will need to do at least steps 1 and 5, but you can for example skip the budget step (step 3). In the appendix of the pedagogical guide, there is a sectioning that allows you to select the most relevant steps according to your students, your learning objectives and your time constraints.

Yes, you can. It is possible for several teachers to share the same project.

Of course, you can. A teacher can carry out a project with his or her class while a colleague carries out another project with his or her other class. Both projects will progress at their own pace. All the challenges in an institution are visible in the facilitator’s area.

In order for the young people to benefit fully from their course, we suggest that you divide them into teams of 3 to 6 people, this allows for a good involvement of each person in the project as well as a diversity ́of profiles.  This is only a recommendation and adaptations are obviously possible. A team can only be made up of a maximum of 6 people. You can have as many teams as you wish. So a class of 30 students could have 10 groups of 3, 5 groups of 6 or 8 groups of different sizes.

Of course, you can. It is possible to assign a theme. It is up to you to choose how the students will work. For example, some schools have chosen to have students work on themes such as reducing waste, improving life in the school.

Startlab lets you implement and develop numerous soft skills, the main ones being: 

• collaboration and team working around projects
• creativity in the implementation of solutions
• communication within the group and oral communication
• autonomy
• decision making
• empathy and listening skills

Not at all. Startlab is first and foremost an approach to teaching young people to develop their own projects, whether it's a mini-company or an association. We introduce some economic concepts, but they are still very accessible concepts.

Startlab is not a guidance platform. Nevertheless, the young people will discover certain professions and discover themselves through the realisation of their project. Many young people tell us that they have had ideas about their future direction when they end the programme. 

In the complementary missions, students have the opportunity to discover some jobs. These professions are related to the stages of project development. For example, in stage 4 on communication, we present the profession of web designer. In stage 2 on market knowledge, we highlight the professions of sales and marketing. Through the web series, we are highlighting other professions, such as ethical fashion, fablabs, etc. We are trying as much as possible to present current professions with recruitment prospects.
